We’re thrilled to see the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) featured in iTnews for its bold strides in data governance and platform transformation.
As part of a three-year acceleration program, ABC has consolidated its data into Snowflake’s cloud-based data warehouse, aiming to deliver a centralised, accessible view of its critical data assets. This initiative is not just about technology, it’s about embedding accountability, improving data discoverability, and fostering a culture of trust and maturity across the organisation.
At Altis Consulting, we’re proud to have supported ABC on this journey. Our collaboration focused on enabling a people-led approach to data governance, helping the ABC tackle challenges across data, people, processes, and technology. From establishing a data governance council to implementing frameworks and standards, the transformation has been both strategic and human-centred.
This work was recently showcased at the Gartner Data & Analytics Summit in Sydney, where , ABC’s Manager of Enterprise Data & Analytics, presented “Lights, Camera, Governance! ABC’s People-led Approach to Data Governance”. Her session highlighted how cultural alignment and data literacy can drive long-lasting change, without over-reliance on tech alone.
“There was a lack of clear accountability and heavy reliance upon single points of failure for data knowledge,” Alison shared. “Our roadmap is about delivering incremental, long-lasting change.”
We’re excited to continue supporting ABC and other organisations in building resilient, scalable data governance strategies that put people first.
