Course overview
Attendees of this two-day course will learn the tried and tested Kimball techniques for designing robust dimensional models to support enterprise decision-making. Students will gain a solid foundation in dimensional modelling that they can apply directly to their workplace projects.
Dimensional Modelling is an approach to make it easier and faster to store, read, summarise, and analyse information in a data warehouse. The concept of Dimensional Modelling was developed by Ralph Kimball and made famous in the book ‘The Data Warehouse Toolkit’ (Kimball/Ross, 2013) which established a whole new vocabulary including “facts” and “dimensions”.

Intended audience
The intended audience for this course is data analysts, database developers, data warehouse architects, business intelligence professionals, or anyone who is involved in designing, implementing, or managing a data warehouse. This training is suitable for both beginners who are new to dimensional modelling as well as experienced professionals who want to refine their skills and learn best practices.
Delivery
This course is offered as a public course suitable for individuals and small groups as well as privately for groups of around 10–12 participants. Private courses are delivered either onsite or remotely by our experienced consultants and can be tailored to meet your organisation’s specific needs.
